Career

Verónica is head of Energy and a Banking and Finance partner at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.  She is member of the Board of Directors of our Firm.

She has extensive experience in transactions related to energy and infrastructure, with a global profile that includes advising leading national and international clients on both acquisition and financing transactions of assets in regulated sectors. She has been involved in a significant number of the acquisition and financing processes that have taken place in these sectors. Her experience also includes acquisition financings, corporate finance and syndicated loans, refinancing and corporate restructuring transactions.

She holds a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid. She holds a Master’s degree in Stock Exchange and Financial Markets from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles and an advanced course in Energy Law from the Instituto de Empresa.

Verónica is recognised as a Leading Individual in Legal 500 in the Projects and Energy category; in Chambers and Partners as Band 1 in the Project Finance category and as Band 2 in Energy & Natural Resources and Banking and Finance. In addition, she has been highlighted by IFLR 1000 as Highly Regarded for her work and extensive experience in the areas of Restructuring and Insolvency and Banking and Project Finance in recent years. Verónica is one of the most active lawyers in M&A and Energy in Spain.

She has participated as an author and coauthor in several specialised legal publications.
