Career

Antonio Auricchio specialises in commercial, corporate and bankruptcy matters, as well as in litigation and arbitration proceedings. He also advises banks, financial institutions and companies on all aspects of contentious insolvency and restructuring proceedings.
He joined the firm in 1990 and in 2000 was made partner.
Antonio was the Office Partner, responsible for the Rome office from 2008 to 2012 and is currently Co-Managing Partner of the Firm.
He writes for prominent law publications; his article “Expedited Debt Restructuring - An International Comparative Analisys”, was recently published by Kluver Law International. He is the author of the chapter "Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law and Policy" of the book "The Law of International Insolvencies and Debt Restructuring".

He is a member of the Italian Bar and he is qualified to appear in front of the Italian Supreme Court since 2008. He is also a member of the Italian Association for Arbitration, TMA Italy (Italian Association for Corporate Restructuring) and Alumni of the Academy of American and International Law.

After graduating in Law maxima cum laude from the University "Federico II" of Naples, Antonio studied at the Academy of American and International Law, University of Dallas, Texas, U.S.A.

Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners’ multidisciplinary dispute resolution group is regularly involved in financial, commercial and corporate litigation. Paolo Gnignati has been representing Gianfranco Zoppas and Finanziaria Internazionale as the liquidator of Veneto Banca in the dispute arising from the resolution of capital increase by Ferak, a corporate joint venture between the clients and the Amenduni Group. Antonio Auricchio is defending the majority shareholder in Ansaldo STS Hitachi against a series of challenges and injunctions brought by the minority shareholders, while practice head GianBattista Origoni is acting for 21 Partners in a civil-commercial dispute before the Tribunal de Commerce in Paris regarding an investment made by individuals in a start-up commodity products company.

The team is particularly active in corporate and M&A, restructuring and litigation; it is 'quick to understand needs and offer excellent solutions'. Jeantet, Gabriella Covino, Antonio Auricchio and managing associate Luigi Romanzi are acting for Giuseppe Bottiglieri Shipping Company on the €400m restructuring of its outstanding debts. In another matter, Covino, Jeantet and senior associate Leonarda Martino advised a consortium of banks on the €50m financial restructuring of Gemmo. Huawei and Michelin Italia are notable clients.
