Antonio Auricchio is defending the majority shareholder in Ansaldo STS Hitachi against a series of challenges and injunctions brought by the minority shareholders, while practice head GianBattista Origoni is acting for 21 Partners in a civil-commercial dispute before the Tribunal de Commerce in Paris regarding an investment made by individuals in a start-up commodity products company.

EU and competition law Tier 2

Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners counts banking, insurance, payment systems and the pharmaceutical industry as particular strengths, recently defending Novartis in proceedings regarding an alleged unlawful coordination with Hoffman-La Roche aimed at hindering the use of the cheaper drug Avastin in favour of more expensive product Lucentis. Practice head Piero Fattori represented Aspen in an appeal before the Council of State regarding an abuse of dominant position by alleging applying excessive prices for certain pharmaceutical products and is acting for Unicredit in an appeal against the ICA’s decision that the Italian Banking Association and several Italian banks’ SEDA services breach Article 101 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU). Alberto Pera and Matteo Padellaro are also recommended.

Investment funds Tier 2
