Position

David Jonin is a partner in the Employment Law practice group. He specialises in employment and social protection law. He advises French and international companies on major assignments and also represents their interests during any related litigation.

David Jonin has recently advised international groups on issues of restructuring, reorganisation and working conditions. He provides legal advice and litigation services for French and foreign companies on employment law issues (company restructurings and reorganisations, staff representative bodies and trade unions, working conditions, union and employee representative elections) and social protection law (social contributions, workplace work-related accidents and illnesses, social security contributions inspections, provident schemes, pensions).

The practice is handling several mass disputes relating to M&A, insolvency and downsizing projects as well as expenses and dividends work matters. The team has also been retained by Uber to handle high-stakes claims brought by hundreds of Uber platform drivers’ users asking for their status to be reclassified as employees.  Recently, the group provided key support in dealing with the first Covid-19 lockdown. L’équipe assiste régulièrement ses clients, notamment de grandes entreprises françaises, lorsqu’ils font face à des situations difficiles (comme des grèves) impliquant des organisations syndicales. Le cabinet sait aussi gérer des litiges à forts enjeux, regroupant un nombre élevé de salariés ; ainsi il assure la défense d’une grande plateforme numérique internationale dans des procédures concernant le statut social de ses collaborateurs. Enfin, des entreprises françaises de premier plan, notamment spécialisées dans les secteurs de l’énergie et des infrastructures, font souvent appel à la pratique pour le traitement des aspects de droit social concernant leurs projets stratégiques de fusions-acquisitions et de réorganisation. L’équipe s’est récemment illustrée par son implication dans une des opérations de fusions-acquisitions emblématiques de 2021.
