Position

Carole Malinvaud is a partner at Gide Paris where she co-heads the international arbitration activity of the firm and chairs the Gide Pro Bono endowment fund. Carole is a member of the Paris and New York Bars and has acted as counsel or arbitrator in over eighty international arbitration proceedings, both ad hoc and institutional, as well as before domestic French courts in relation to international litigation and arbitration.

Specialising in international commercial law, and more particularly in international arbitration, Carole has recently been focusing on arbitrations relating to construction, energy and defence, under the rules of the ICC and ICSID. She also acts as arbitrator in several ICC and ICSID arbitrations.

Carole regularly speaks at conferences and is a lecturer at University Paris II on the Master 2 in International business law and at Sciences Po Paris on the LLM in Transnational arbitration. She currently chairs the French international arbitration commission (ICC France) and is the former chair of the French Arbitration Committee (CFA). She is an elected member of the ICCA Governing Board, as well as the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS), and chairs the Ordinary Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Gide Loyrette Nouel A.A.R.P.I. has a combined London and Paris-based practice that handles commercial and investment arbitration cases on behalf of some European and African state entities but predominantly for companies. The team has a strong involvement in Africa-related matters, concerning mining, oil and gas and construction issues. It has also been recently retained to handle a high-stakes case linked to Russia and another significant case opposing leading insurance companies. The practice also regularly handles exequatur cases before French courts.  Carole Malinvaud, who regularly sits as an arbitrator in ICSID and ICC arbitration cases, is noted.
