Career

Katrien Veranneman’s practice focuses on EU and Luxembourg competition law as well as on foreign direct investment control and international sanctions. She also advises on financial sector regulatory matters and ESG topics. She is an EU litigation expert and assists clients before the EU courts.

Member of the Luxembourg Bar since 2016.

Languages

English, French and Dutch and has good knowledge in German and Luxembourgish.

Member of the Delegation of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) to the EU Courts.

Member of the Board of the Association Luxembourgeoise pour l’Etude du Droit de la Concurrence (ALEDC)

Chair of the Luxembourg Bar’s technical committee on EU law.

Prior to joining the firm, Katrien worked as référendaire (legal secretary) at the General Court of the European Union for twelve years. Before that, she practiced EU law and competition law with an international law firm in Brussels (Belgium) and London (UK) for five years, and was a Foreign Associate with Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York (USA).

Education

Licentie in de Rechten from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium).

Master’s degree in European law from the College of Europe (Belgium).

LLM degree from the Law School at Northwestern University (USA).

Certificate in business administration from Kellogg Graduate School of Management (USA).
