Position

Partner Juha-Pekka Mutanen heads the firm's Finance & Capital Markets practice.

He focuses on complex finance and capital market transactions, M&A and corporate law.

Juha-Pekka Mutanen is known for advising lenders and borrowers in financing arrangements, market participants in securities law issues and public and private companies in M&A transactions.

He acts as Lead Partner in complex banking and finance arrangements, including project finance, and advises on transactional, regulatory and securities law matters. He has advised clients in a number of industries including banking and insurance, energy and infrastructure, mining, health care and transportation.

Jointly led by the 'very intelligent' Juha-Pekka Mutanen and Jan Ollila, Dittmar & Indrenius' practice provides a wide range of transport advice; it recently assisted the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority with the development of the Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) market in Finland. RZD and VR (the Russian and Finnish state railway companies) are also key clients.

  • NEW RULES ON INTERNATIONAL JURISDICTION IN CIVIL MATTERS

    In February Parliament adopted new rules in relation to both domestic and international jurisdiction in civil matters. The new jurisdiction rules will enter into force on 1 September 2009. As Finland is a member state of the European Union, the EU rules on international jurisdiction, such as the Brussels I and II Regulations, (EC) No 44/2001 and (EC) No 2201/2003, and other provisions regarding certain specific subject matters, are applicable. The new rules on international jurisdiction will apply in cases falling outside the territorial or subject matter scope of the applicable EU regulations or international conventions binding Finland.
