Sinopec’s offer for Tanganyika Oil

Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation has retained Mannheimer Swartling as their Swedish legal advisor in connection with a recommended public cash offer to the shareholders in Tanganyika Oil Company Ltd (Tanganyika Oil).

The bidder is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec).

Tanganyika Oil is an international oil and gas company with its registered office in Canada and has interests in exploration and production assets in Syria. The company’s shares are traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange and its Swedish depository receipts are traded on the OMX Nordic Exchange Stockholm. In the offer, Tanganyika Oil is valuated at just over SEK 13 billion.
