Bourns acquires assets from Jensen Devices

July 2012

Bourns, Inc. has acquired substantially all of the assets of Jensen Devices AB.

Jensen Devices, headquartered and with manufacturing operations in Stockholm, designs and manufactures gas discharge tubes (GDTs). Jensen Devices is well-known in the industry for its patented Sparctube® series of GDTs which are used for switching ignition circuits for automotive HID headlights. Jensen Devices also services industrial and telecom markets with GDTs used as overvoltage protectors.

Bourns, Inc. is a leading manufacturer and supplier of automotive sensors and circuit protection solutions. Headquartered in California, Bourns serves a broad range of markets, including telecommunications, computer and automotive market segments.

The shareholders of Jensen Devices were advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The firm’s team included partner Hans Andréasson and senior associate Christopher Arkbrant, primarily assisted by senior associate Ola Axelsson and associates Sophie Ahlberg and Therese Hofman.
