Mannheimer Swartling and Helena Rempler win at the Europe Women in Business Law Awards

July 2012

Mannheimer Swartling received awards in a number of categories at the Euromoney Legal Media Group Europe Women in Business Law Awards held on 20 June in London.

On the national level, Mannheimer Swartling was the country award winner for Sweden and on a pan-European basis, the firm received the “Best gender diversity initiative by national firm” award for its ”Women’s network and professional development programme” and Helena Rempler won the individual award for “Best in insurance & reinsurance”.

In addition to winning these awards, on a pan-European basis, the firm was shortlisted in the “Best national firm mentoring programme” and “Best national firm for work-life balance” categories and Eva Hägg was nominated for individual awards in the “Best in capital markets: equity” and “Best in corporate governance” categories.

“Mannheimer Swartling’s ability to maintain its leading position on the market owes much to our ability to recruit and retain the best people, our strong emphasis on professional development, and a strong culture built around our all-equal true partnership. We are very proud to see Helena Rempler and Eva Hägg recognised for their achievements and we will continue our efforts on all fronts to ensure the number of women in positions of leadership throughout the firm –and within the legal community in Sweden and abroad – continues to grow.” – Jan Dernestam, managing partner.

The Euromoney Legal Media Group Europe Women in Business Law awards were established to celebrate the achievements of firms setting the standard in terms of female-friendly work practices and women leading the field in the legal sector across Europe. The Awards recognise the best initiatives for gender diversity, innovation, minority women, mentoring, work-life balance, pro bono work and talent management and are based on the publisher’s research, as well as law firm and in-house interviews.
