Mannheimer Swartling once again in GAR ranking of arbitration firms

April 2012

Mannheimer Swartling features once again in the GAR100, Global Arbitration Review’s listing of the world’s most prominent international arbitration practices and the GAR30, a ranking of the world’s 30 most active arbitration law firms.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Mannheimer Swartling has placed on the GAR 30 – every year since the ranking was introduced.

Global Arbitration Review describes the firm as “Sweden’s number one player”, Kaj Hobér as “the country’s foremost arbitration academic,” and mentions that “Mannheimer Swartling...are the only lawyers so far to have obtained a liability ruling against Russia in a Yukos case. On a jurisprudential view, the case has far reaching implications.”

The ranking criteria used by the Global Arbitration Review include, amongst others, the combined value of the number of merit hearings in international arbitrations that the firm has appeared in as counsel during the past two years, the firm’s level of activity in investment treaty arbitrations, as well the reputation of the practice’s individuals and the arbitrator work they attract.
