DFDS AND C.PORTS SA TAKE OVER RO/RO TERMINAL IN GOTHENBURG

October 2010

DFDS and C.PORTS SA have jointly acquired Ă„lvsborg Ro/Ro AB and will take over operations of the ro/ro terminal in the Port of Gothenburg. In connection with the acquisition, Ă„lvsborg and the Port of Gothenburg have entered into a 25-year concession agreement, concerning the operation of the terminal and related infrastructure. Subject to the approval of the competition authorities, the transaction leads to two of the port's largest customers taking over the ro/ro terminal.

The transaction is part of the privatization process of terminal operations at the Port of Gothenburg, which commences with the ro/ro terminal, followed by the container terminal and the car terminal. The Port of Gothenburg is the largest port in the Nordic region.

DFDS is quoted on NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchange Copenhagen, and conducts, among others, business in the area of terminal operations and freight in relation to containers, ro/ro and passengers. C.PORTS SA is a Belgian company that conducts terminal operations. C.PORTS S.A. is a part of the Luxembourg based freight shipping and ports group CLdN.

DFDS and C.PORTS SA were advised by Mannheimer Swartling in the transaction. The firm's team was led by Johan Ljungberg and included Jan Holmberg, Stefan Brocker, MĂĄrten Tagaeus, Pontus Danielson, Josefin Engblom and Martin Sundblad, as well as a number of co-workers from the practice groups M&A, Shipping, Real Estate, Environment and IMM.
