The ‘very well integrated and highly knowledgeable team‘ at Cerha Hempel is particularly active in the areas of retail and residential real estate. ‘Highly skilled expert‘ Manfred Ton headed a team that advised Value One on its joint venture with Nuveen Real Estate to invest €600m in pan-European purpose-built student accommodation. Peter Vcelouch, who heads the team jointly with Johannes Aehrenthal, is acting for retailer Lidl Österreich on an ongoing basis on issues including real estate development projects, real estate acquisitions concerning new shop locations in Austria, and construction law issues. Also recommended are Mark Krenn and counsel Matthias Nödl.
Cerha Hempel assists with projects and energy work by leveraging multiple departments throughout the firm. The practice is particularly singled out for its expertise in energy M&A, which is handled by Clemens Hasenauer and Johannes Aehrenthal in the corporate transactions team; in recent highlights, the group advised OMV on its purchase of a stake in an oil refining company and acted on General Electric’s sale of its distributed power business.
