Career
Malcolm’s areas of specialisation are mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, aviation and ship finance, insurance, pensions and gaming law. He assists local and foreign clients on legal, regulatory and licensing aspects of each of these areas as well as related corporate and commercial matters. He frequently advises clients on projects comprising a combination of his areas of specialisation, particularly those that have a capital markets or an M&A dimension. Malcolm also leads Camilleri Preziosi’s Blockchain Taskforce which was set up in order to study the technology and its potential application to the firm’s practice areas.
Malcolm joined the firm as a Trainee in 2003. Upon his return from postgraduate studies in 2005, he was made Associate. He was admitted to partnership in 2013.

Corporate restructuring and governance are other core areas of activity. The group retains a niche specialty in iGaming and gambling law. Tax partner Donald Vella and corporate specialist Malcolm Falzon complete the group.

Focusing on the application of technologies such as NFTs and AI, with complementary expertise in corporate and commercial law, Malcolm Falzon is the main partner in Camilleri Preziosi‘s practice. Falzon and senior associate Diane Bugeja are developing the firm’s growing fintech client base and advise clients in the financial services sector on applications and developments relevant to the insurance, banking, investment and payment services space.

Steven Decesare leads Camilleri Preziosi’s ‘knowledgeable and commercial’ and ‘extremely reactive’ aviation practice, where he is noted for his knowledge of aircraft finance and leasing. Working alongside him are Ron Galea Cavallazzi, who advises on regulatory matters, and finance partner Malcolm Falzon. The group regularly assists airlines, as well as business jet and helicopter owners and operators, on all matters relating to the aviation sector.
