Position

Laurens de Graaf is a partner in our Employment Law department. He counsels many national and international companies in organizational restructurings, collective dismissals, employee consultation processes and individual employment matters. Laurens is an experienced litigator, who has argued high-profile cases at every court level, including the Supreme Court. Some of Laurens’ most notable clients are active in the aviation, energy, IT, and (international) transportation industries. Laurens regularly publishes articles in the field of employment law and is a lecturer for PALA, a post-academic specialisation for employment lawyers.

Career

Laurens graduated from Utrecht University in 2008, where he obtained a masters degree in Corporate, Social and Economic Law. During his studies, he put a heavy emphasis on employment law and labour law. In 2007, Laurens spent two semesters at Washington University in St. Louis, School of Law (USA). He wrote his thesis about employers’ liability law in the USA and The Netherlands, for which he received the Capra Thesis Prize 2008 (best thesis on employment law in The Netherlands). In 2008, Laurens joined BarentsKrans’ Labour Law department and in 2016 he became partner.
