Position

Partner. Thomas Thordal Sevelsted assists clients on lending as well as on borrowing in matters of debt financing. Thomas also advises on the handling of distressed commitments and insolvent undertakings. Thomas has extensive experience in national and international financing transactions, including business transfers, investments, reorganisation, financing of acquisitions and operations, and the provision of guarantee and security. In particular, Thomas has assisted on a number of leveraged and asset based financings.

Thoms has further advised on a number of restructurings and reorganisations of distressed undertakings, including business transfers in the event of restructuring and bankruptcy.

In addition, Thomas has for several years rendered legal advice to airline companies, banks and leasing companies on the acquisition, sale, leasing and financing of aircraft, and he also advises players in the industry on airline-related issues in general.

Thomas has been seconded to Danske Bank A/S, A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S and to one of Germany’s leading law firms.

Practice head Morten Krogsgaard specialises in international finance law; he recently assisted Advent International with the financing of its acquisition of Færch Plast and advised HSBC as local counsel on its financing of Ineos’ acquisition of Dong E&P. Thomas Thordal Sevelsted is also a key name to note; he recently acted for Strawberry Fields on a facilities agreement with lender Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) for the purpose of refinancing properties in Denmark and Sweden.
