Cédric Chapuis heads Bär & Karrer's financial services team in our Geneva office. His practice focuses on advising banks and other financial institutions in regulatory, compliance and general business matters. In addition, he regularly advises Swiss and foreign clients in a variety of industries on domestic and international transactions, as well as general corporate matters. He has served on the board of directors of Swiss companies in various industries and is currently a member of the board of several banks. 

In recent years, Cédric Chapuis has advised a number of financial institutions in connection with internal investigations on cross-border issues. He has in particular assisted several Swiss banks on their participation in the U.S. Program for Swiss Banks, and has represented participating banks before the DoJ.

Bär & Karrer Ltd. is best known for applying its corporate and transactional experience to out-of-court restructurings, as well as assisting clients from the financial sector with recovery and resolution planning, regulatory intervention and insolvency proceedings. In recent work, Cédric Chapuis is advising Standard Chartered Bank on the voluntary liquidation and wind-down of its Swiss private banking subsidiary, and is also chairing the creditors' commission in Banque Privée Espírito Santo's liquidation. Insolvency specialist Thomas Rohde and transactions partner Ralph Malacrida jointly head the practice.
