Career
Rune is a broadly experienced generalist. He has practised in numerous fields of law, covering several sectors. Rune has non-industry specific expertise in the handling of negotiations involving multiple parties/interests, often characterised by complex interrelations between various entities, and/or the stakeholders (or some of them) also having non-commercial interests (typically public sector bodies), etc. The foundations for Rune’s transactional experience were his involvement in a number of high-profile estates administered by BAHR in the 1980s and 90s. Rune’s practise has over time evolved an energy sector focus.

(Hall of Fame: Electricity and renewable energy)Attracting praise for its ‘profound understanding of the oil and gas business’, BAHR maintains a market-leading transactional offering across the full range of energy sectors, handling high-value and complex consolidations, acquisitions, and cross-border M&A for leading industry players. Managing partner Thomas K. Svensen focuses his practice on oil and gas work, Stig Klausen Engelhart leads on petroleum law mandates, and the ‘deeply experienced‘ Jon Christian Thaulow oversees the energy and environmental law group; the trio jointly lead the firm’s energy practice. Other core names to note include Rune Svoren, who is highly recommended for his expertise in electricity transactions, tax and litigation specialist Jan Jansen, and Trond Lingaas, who handles regulatory and contractual issues in the oil and gas industry. Jens Naas-Bibow joined the practice from 1,5 Advokatfirma AS in early 2024.
