Senior Associate. Popi Papantoniou has participated in various Commercial and Corporate cases. She advises Greek and international clients on M&A commercial agreements and consumer law. With distinct expertise in data privacy matters, frequently advising companies, organizations and individuals on the development of new products and services, the review/negotiation of data processing agreements, GDPR compliance, international data transfers, data subject access requests, privacy policies and safety measures, monitoring of employees, regulatory enforcement actions, use of cookies and online tracking, data breach incidents and litigations before Data Protection Authority/Courts.

She has also an extensive experience on various aspects of technology law, focusing on issues arising from the use of new technologies and business models, such as cloud and data driven projects, IoT, AI and Machine Learning, and other issues of the digital transformation.

Furthermore, her practice also frequently involves counseling clients on various aspects of e-commerce and on line marketing including in particular the online social networks and the treatment of personal data in promotions through telecommunications companies, review/negotiation of e-commerce agreements, legal formalities regarding e-transactions such as the e-signature, mandatory information to be made available to customers, liability exclusion clauses, consumer’s right of cancellation/withdrawal in e-commerce transaction, opt-in and opt-out mechanisms etc.
