Pedro is a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice. With over 25 years’ experience, he began to specialise in the automotive industry very early in his career and he now represents some of the largest companies and makes in this sector.
Pedro has vast experience in commercial, corporate, banking and finance litigation, as well as in litigation relating to real estate and to sports law. He is one of the founding members of the CAC (circle of litigation lawyers).
Besides having always worked very actively and intensely as an advocate in judicial litigation, in recent years, Pedro has also been developing a career as an arbitration lawyer and he is a member of Concórdia – Centre for Dispute Conciliation and Mediation.
More recently, he joined the list of arbitrators of the Portuguese Court of Arbitration for Sport and he has acted as arbitrator in a variety of cases before this court.

The practice at PLMJ advises clients from a spectrum of industry sectors in relation to complex and high-value contentious matters, fielding expertise across traditional litigation, criminal law as well as arbitration. The department is subdivided into five closely knitted teams, covering restructuring, financial and corporate litigation, civil and commercial disputes, banking and finance contentious matters, criminal cases as well as arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Team head Nuno Líbano Monteiro specialises in civil litigation as well as corporate restructuring and insolvency issues; Pedro Metello de Nápoles leads on arbitral matters and oversees the Angola desk; and financial services disputes and those pertaining to the automotive industry are some of Pedro Faria‘s key specialisms. Carla Góis Coelho actively advises international and domestic players in civil and commercial litigation. Founding partner José Miguel Júdice retired from practice. Joaquim Shearman de Macedo was a new arrival in 2020.
