Career

Miguel is the partner who heads PLMJ’s Mozambique Desk. He has more than 17 years’ experience, specialising in foreign investment and mergers and acquisitions, in Portugal and Mozambique.
Miguel has been involved in numerous complex transactions concluded in recent years in both countries. In this work, he has advised Portuguese and international clients from various industries and sectors, in particular, energy (renewables and oil and gas), financial services, infrastructure, construction and real estate.
In 2013, he won the prestigious award “40 under forty” award given by the magazine Iberian Lawyer.
Miguel has had several articles published in Portuguese newspapers and in specialist publications. He participates regularly as speaker in conferences and seminars on topics relating to commercial and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and foreign investment in the Mozambican market.
Prior to his arrival at PLMJ, Miguel was a lawyer at the law firms Mullerat and Uría Menéndez, at the Lisbon Municipal Council and at the Lisbon Property Owners Association.
