Career

Marta is a managing associate and member of the PLMJ Mozambique Desk. With over 20 years’ experience, she provides legal support to international clients in investment projects in Mozambique, and she has deep knowledge of the business environment of this country.
Marta has particular experience in advising companies in the areas of real estate and construction, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals and telecoms.
She supports clients in a wide range of matters including corporate litigation, real estate and construction, corporate/M&A, competition, regulatory and compliance, and data protection.
In the area of real estate, she has handled large projects in Mozambique and in Angola, helping foreign investors to prepare, structure and negotiate EPC contracts. In Mozambique, Marta has also worked major operations in the energy sector.
She completed a postgraduate course in banking, financial and insurance law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and she also took a course in construction law at Cambridge.
