David Widger is Head of the Firm’s Corporate and M&A practice. His key areas of expertise include M&A, corporate finance, corporate governance, private equity, joint ventures, venture capital, corporate restructurings, capital markets, securities law and commercial contractual arrangements. David’s practice involves advising a wide range of Irish and international public and private corporations, institutions and private equity and venture capital funds on all legal aspects of their corporate affairs.

A&L Goodbody LLP‘s ‘responsive, proactive and practical‘ team has advised on some of the most high-profile recent corporate transactions in the Irish market and it also has an active practice in the mid-market M&A space. Clients include large domestic and international corporates, private equity funds and financial institutions. David Widger is the head of corporate, while Mark Ward leads the M&A practice, which is particularly skilled in cross-border transactions. Other notable team members include Sheena Doggett, who has expertise in corporate finance and private equity; Richard Grey, who is experienced in public and private M&A; and US market expert Alan Casey.

A&L Goodbody LLP‘s ‘customer-oriented‘ team is particularly active in corporate and capital markets matters in the life sciences sector, advising domestic and international pharmaceutical companies on M&A, capital raisings and IPOs. The team also has significant expertise in IP litigation, procurement and competition issues, and gives regulatory advice, including assistance with Brexit preparations. Cliona Christle, who specialises in medical negligence and product liability litigation, and David Widger, who focuses on corporate matters, lead the team.
