Position

Joe Kelly is a Partner in A&L Goodbody’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. He has developed a strong litigation practice in the Commercial Court and co-leads the White Collar Crime Group. He advises clients involved in regulatory investigations and/or prosecutions brought in the criminal courts. He is a lead adviser to financial institutions and automobile companies in relation to recent high profile investigations in Ireland. In addition, Joe co- heads A&L Goodbody’s boutique Gaming and Betting practice.

Memberships

Joe is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Irish Branch, and is a practicing Arbitrator. He is a founder member of the Irish Commercial Mediation Association and is a practicing Mediator, having been involved in approximately 50 Mediations to date. Joe is a former chairman of the Law Society’s Arbitration and Mediation Committee and a former member of the Law Society Criminal Law Committee. He is also on the Law Society of Ireland Panel of Mediators. Joe is a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law, one of the leading international organisations in the Betting & Gaming industry.

A&L Goodbody LLP‘s ‘hugely knowledgeable’ white-collar criminal law practice team is involved in some of the most high-profile matters currently before the Irish courts. The groups work includes advising on alleged breaches of environmental and financial regulations, as well as allegations of corruption and other criminal offences. The team is also experienced in cross-border matters, working alongside firms in foreign jurisdictions. The practice is led by Kenan Furlong and Joe Kelly. Furlong has a broad practice and is the only Irish lawyer to have acted as Chairman of the International Bar Association’s Business Crime Committee. Ireland > Dispute resolution

A&L Goodbody LLP‘s sizeable dispute resolution team handles a range of complex litigation. In addition to acting in disputes between companies, such as breach of contract claims, the practice acts for corporations against Irish state bodies in disputes concerning tax assessments and judicial review proceedings. Practice head Enda Hurley acts for companies in the financial services, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing sectors, among others. Dario Dagostino specialises in contentious work against regulators, frequently acting against the Central Bank of Ireland. Eileen Roberts and Liam Kennedy SC both have broad commercial dispute experience, while Joe Kelly focuses on work involving allegations of white-collar crime. Tom Casey is also noted.
