Rob Corbet is Head of our Technology Practice, the largest legal team in Ireland dedicated to specialist IT, data protection and Intellectual Property law.
Rob’s practice is primarily focused on technological innovation and, in particular, the protection and commercialisation of data and other forms of intellectual property. Rob also leads our Privacy, Data Protection and Information Management practice where he has unrivalled experience in all aspects of privacy, data protection and cyber-security law. He has represented many clients in their dealings with the Data Protection Commission and he has personally defended multiple clients in prosecutions brought by the Data Protection Commission in respect of data security, direct marketing and other offences. Rob’s Betting and Gaming practice is market leading, reflecting two decades of experience.

Arthur Cox‘s intellectual property team recently widened its scope and relaunched its trade mark filling practice, while it also continues to be well known for handling IP advisory and disputes matters and assisting with tax-efficient IP structures. The team is led by Rob Corbet and newly promoted partner Olivia Mullooly, who is valued by clients for her ‘great negotiation and communication skills’. Gavin Woods is an experienced litigator, who recently acted for Coolmore Stud in an action to prevent the publication of a book by a former employee. Isabel Foley is another key contact; she represented Dunnes Stores before the Supreme Court in a novel case related to comparative advertising.(Leading individuals)

The team acts for leading Irish plcs and corporates, both in the technology sector and in other areas such as retail, energy and transport, and for state bodies and educational institutions. It also has experience handling investigations and enforcement actions initiated by the Data Protection Commission.
