Laura Cunningham is a partner in our Aviation Group who specialises in asset and structured finance with a focus principally on aircraft finance, leasing and related tax driven structures.
Laura has represented leasing companies, international financial institutions, equity investors and airlines in a broad range of cross-border transactions including export-credit supported financings, restructurings, Islamic financings, PDP facilities, finance and operating leasing, asset portfolio sale and purchase transactions and sale and leaseback transactions. Laura previously worked internationally in aviation with Milbank LLP principally in their London office having also spent time in Milbank’s Singapore office. Prior to Milbank, Laura worked in Freshfield Bruckhaus Deringer LLP’s aviation and asset finance team having trained and worked with Arthur Cox.

Arthur Cox has extensive international aviation finance expertise within its senior ranks and strong tax experience within the team. Arthur Cox‘s broad transport practice covers matters across the road, rail and aviation sectors, including advising clients on issues at the cutting edge of this area of law. The team is highly active in the asset finance space, with Caroline Devlin, Rob Murphy and Laura Cunningham advising on the financing of aircraft as well as the establishment of leasing platforms and funds. Ruth Lillis was promoted to partner in January 2021 and also focuses on the aviation sector. Beyond financings, the practice acts for transport services companies, airlines and vehicle manufacturers on a range of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, and also handles the development of transport infrastructure.
