Position

Julian Craughan focuses on structured finance and capital market transactions. Over the years he has advised key participants (including lenders, arrangers, originators and swap providers) on these transactions in the United Kingdom and across Continental Europe. Julian’s involvement in the structured finance market has covered a wide variety of asset classes including consumer receivables, trade receivables, commercial mortgages, residential mortgages and infrastructure assets. He has also acted on many automotive receivables securitisations in Europe including lease, hire purchase and dealer floor plan transactions.

The firm is among the leading players in automotive and lease transactions, and it recently acted for Volkswagen Financial Services UK, Mercedes Benz Financial Services UK and RCI Bank UK on their sales of securitised portfolios of auto loans. It is also a key adviser on RMBS transactions, and standout partner Julian Craughan acted for Enra Specialist Finance in a £425m transactions backed by mixed mortgage receivables secured on properties in England, Wales and Scotland. Among the deals handled by key partner Tauhid Ijaz are two public Dutch RMBS transactions, a restructuring of a significant European healthcare receivables securitisation, a UK lifetime residential mortgage securitisation. He advised Goldman Sachs on an asset based financing of the e-scooter fleet of Tier Mobility GmbH. US-qualified partner Dennis Dillon also plays a pivotal role in the practice.
