Mar\u00eda Laura Farrapeira, General Counsel, Vice President for the Hispanoamerican Region and Board Member at AB Mauri, delivered the keynote address. Farrapeira reflected on the expanding strategic role of General Counsel in Argentina, particularly in navigating economic uncertainty, regulatory change and cross-border business operations.<\/p>\n
The first panel, in association with P\u00e9rez Alati, Grondona, Benites & Arntsen (PAGBAM), explored trends in M&A transactions in Argentina and Latin America. Speakers discussed deal structures, foreign exchange challenges, regulatory considerations and the importance of early legal involvement in transaction planning. The second session, in association with Tavarone Rovelli Salim Miani, focused on Argentina\u2019s labour law reform. Using Argentina\u2019s new investment incentive regime as a case study, speakers discussed how General Counsel can engage earlier in tax-related decisions, manage cross-functional risk and support business priorities in a complex investment environment.<\/p>\n
The final panel addressed the practical realities of getting deals done in Argentina. Speakers discussed navigating currency controls, regulatory uncertainty and transaction pressure, and shared practical approaches to managing risk and supporting deal execution.<\/p>\n
