It had been a long three years \u2013 a period of many changes both globally and in Mexico \u2013 since The Legal 500 had been able to celebrate the publication of the US-Mexico Private Practice Powerlist in New York, something of an annual tradition prior to the pandemic. We were, then, delighted to see representatives of more than 30 different US law firms turn out on a particularly wild and windy autumnal night to join sponsor firm, Gonz\u00e1lez Calvillo, and ourselves so as to celebrate the launch of this year\u2019s edition.\u00a0 Indeed, with colleagues from Miami, Houston and Washington DC, the evening was complete. No matter that the rains prevented us from opening the rooftop balcony of the Spyglass, our enclosure just served to heighten the pleasure of catching up in person, zoom calls and virtual meetings cast aside for the pleasure of a crowded room with old friends and colleagues. And while the AMLO administration, the USMCA dispute process and other things cross-border all got a brief mention, ultimately, this was a celebration, a moment to set aside inter-firm competition and enjoy some down time with those who battle at the same front, to remember departed colleagues and to reflect on the good fortune of being able to come together once more.<\/span><\/p>\n
