Neither torrential rain (and its accompanying Mexico City traffic!) nor a couple of tremors could prevent a fine turnout for the eighth Legal 500 GC Powerlist Mexico, held at the magnificent offices of sponsor firm Creel Garc\u00eda-Cuellar, Aiza y Enr\u00edquez, in the Torre Virreyes Pedregal on Thursday 26th September.<\/p>\n
After brief opening words by Legal 500\u2019s senior editor (western hemisphere), Tim Girven; and Creel Garc\u00eda-Cuellar\u2019s senior partner, Carlos Aiza\u2019 the assembled group of more than eighty leading corporate counsel were treated to a masterclass as regards the very particular political point of inflection at which Mexico finds itself. The presentation by Gustavo Almaraz Petrie, Executive President of the Grupo Estrategia Pol\u00edtica (GEP), provided an x-ray of the country\u2019s political reality on the eve of Claudia Sheinbaum\u2019s inauguration, also highlighting the potential risks \u2013 not least those connected to the renegotiation of the USMCA treaty \u2013 of the upcoming Mexican presidential \u2018sexenio\u2019; the assembled guests were left with plenty to talk about.<\/p>\n
