The Legal 500 is honoured to celebrate Southeast Asia’s leading legal talent at the inaugural The Legal 500 Southeast Asia Awards. We aim for this annual event to become the most prestigious awards ceremony in the calendar for the region’s legal practitioners.

The Legal 500 will recognise teams or individuals whose work has exceeded expectations and raised standards over the past 24 months. The awards will be informed by the market-leading research undertaken by both our editorial team as part of the annual Legal 500 Asia Pacific submission process and our private practice and GC Powerlist research teams.

Utilising decades of experience researching the region’s leading firms and in-house lawyers, our in-depth research process will identify, with a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion, lawyers who have demonstrated excellence in their respective fields.

The current shortlist, based on research for our 2020 guide and delayed due to the global pandemic which prevented us from delivering the awards last year, has been expanded to include standout performers from the last 12 months and updated following launch of the 2021 Asia Pacific guide.

Initially intended as an in-person event, the continued restriction of international travel has necessitated a virtual event. This will allow attendees to applaud the achievements of the region’s leading lawyers and firms wherever in world you may be. So, let’s celebrate together as we announce the names of those who have made such significant contributions to the Southeast Asian legal community and economy.
