Wednesday, 13 August 2025 \u2013 CMS INDUSLAW is pleased to announce the joining of Abeezar E Faizullabhoy as senior partner, and Murtaza Kachwalla and S. M. Algaus as partners, along with their team. This strategic addition significantly bolsters the Firm\u2019s Dispute Resolution practice in Mumbai.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Drawing on Abeezar\u2019s extensive experience, network and acumen, the Firm is entrusting him with the pivotal role of mentoring and driving the sustained growth of its Mumbai office by working closely with the leadership of the Firm.<\/p>\n

A<\/strong>beeza<\/strong>r F<\/strong>aizullabhoy<\/strong> brings over 35 years of experience spanning dispute r<\/span>esolutio<\/span>n, arbitration, and corporate commercial transaction and advisory. His disputes practice includes representing both domestic and international clients across sectors such as manufacturing, technology, services, and retail before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, tribunals, and in both domestic and international arbitrations. He has also handled numerous matters under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, and regularly advises on the enforcement of foreign decrees and arbitral awards in India.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his corporate commercial practice,\u00a0Abeezar has advised on joint ventures, angel and private equity investments, shareholders\u2019 and share purchase agreements, technology transfers, and issues under FDI regulations, the Companies Act, FEMA, and other commercial laws. He has previously worked with Mulla & Mulla & Craigie, Blunt & Caroe, JSA, HSA Advocates, and Argus Partners.<\/p>\n

Murtaza Kachwalla<\/strong> brings over 16 years of experience in litigation and dispute resolution, having advised and represented leading corporates and individuals in a broad range of matters. He has represented clients in complex commercial disputes before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, and specialised tribunals including the NCLT, NCLAT, and DRT. Murtaza also has significant experience in domestic and international arbitrations. In addition, he advises on real estate matters, including drafting and vetting of property-related documents, and representing clients in transactions involving property transfers and conveyancing.<\/p>\n

S. M. Algaus<\/strong> has over 10 years of experience in dispute resolution, including commercial litigation, arbitration, and advisory on related transactions. He has advised clients on civil and commercial disputes, insolvency proceedings, intellectual property litigation, banking regulations, and more. He has appeared before various forums including the Supreme Court, multiple High Courts, NCLT, City Civil & Sessions Courts, Small Causes Court, DRT, Electricity Regulatory Commissions, and arbitral tribunals.<\/span><\/p>\n
