Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners handles the full range of employment law matters including labour relations, senior executive employment terminations and incentives programmes. Senior associate Aleksandra Yevstafyeva counts Cisco Systems and Caesars Entertainment Corporation among her clients.

Ernst and Young LLC is noted for the strength of its multinational client base and the depth of its people advisory services practice. Olga Gorbanovskaya and Halyna Khomenko are the main contacts; they advised an airline on contracts with pilots, and assisted a global beverage company with secondments.

Attorneys’ Association Gestors climbs the ranking thanks to its impressive list of multinational clients. It predominantly handles labour disputes, but also undertakes advisory work. Andriy Tsvyetkov assisted McDonald's Ukraine and automotive component company Monroe with employment matters.

GOLAW is 'very knowledgeable, responsive and solution oriented'. Key partner Max Lebedev and senior associate Taras Lytovchenko 'understand the difficulties international clients face in Ukraine'. The firm counts Pfizer and a leading US movie studio among its clients.

Ilyashev & Partners handles compliance, contracts, internal procedures and contentious matters. Mikhail Ilyashev leads a practice that counts SE Antonov and BTA Bank among its clients. For Cofco, Roman Marchenko handled labour inspections by the State Service of Ukraine.

Jeantet's employment practice advises on hiring and dismissals, outsourcing, collective bargaining, redundancies and contentious matters. Bertrand Barrier acted for Pact on numerous matters, including work permits for foreign employees. Illya Tkachuk is now with Integrites.

KM Partners climbs the ranking having advised leading European and global corporates on employment matters. Alexander Shemiatkin is the lead partner. Of counsel Yaroslava Ivasyuk (who is 'client oriented' and has 'deep knowledge') advised Andritz Hydro on labour relations matters.

PwC Legal assists multinational and Ukrainian companies with employment and immigration matters, including labour disputes. Practice head Olga Melnychenko, who is co-chair of the HR Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, and litigator Andrey Pronchenko are recommended. Toshiba is a key client.

ADER HABER, which consists of lawyers formerly with Spenser & Kauffmann, handled several large mandates for well-known clients. Practice head Tetyana Ivanovych acted for Alfa Bank on a restructuring that affected more than 4,000 employees and involved transfers and redundancies.

Ante Law Firm provides both advisory and employment litigation services, particularly in the aviation, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Andriy Guck and senior associate Roman Storonskiy defended Sanofi-Aventis against a compensation claim brought by its former chief accountant.

Deloitte (PJSC Deloitte & Touche USC) handles restructuring, retrenchments, mergers, employee transfers, secondments, incentives and compliance matters. Dmytro Pavlenko and Svitlana Tutovska are the main contacts. Pavlenko advised Glencore Ukraine on corporate immigration matters.

Eterna Law provides advice on the employment of foreigners in Ukraine and Ukrainians abroad; this include assisting with contracts, incentives, immigration compliance, work permits and disputes. Practice head Oksana Kneychuk counts Christian Dior Couture and Auchan Ukraine among her clients.

EVERLEGAL handles employment matters, including disputes, for clients in the IT, energy and agricultural sectors. Yevheniy Deyneko, Andriy Olenyuk and Oleksandr Ruzhytskyi are the main contacts. The firm advised Rias on the employment of the CEO of its local subsidiary.

Work permits, employment contracts, terminations, collective labour agreements and benefit schemes feature in KPD Consulting Law Firm's workload. Head of criminal and labour law Kyrylo Kazak acted for Diebold-Nixdorf on obtaining work permits for foreign employees.

Legal Alliance Company handles employee relations, investigations and contentious matters. Litigator Illya Kostin and senior associate Iryna Shlyakhovska count pharmaceutical companies Novartis and Boehringer Ingelheim among their clients.

Marchenko Partners joins the ranking thanks to a client roster that includes pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly, LafargeHolcim and Home Group. Key partner Oleksandr Aleksyeyenko acted for British Airways on a programme of dismissals to reduce personnel in its local office.

As part of its corporate practice, PETERKA & PARTNERS LLC handles employment contracts, terminations, internal policies, collective bargaining and labour disputes. Recently promoted partner Taras Utiralov leads the practice, which counts the Czech Embassy and ACO Industries among its clients.

The employment practice at Redcliffe Partners is 'reliable and incredibly efficient in complex matters' and is praised for its 'substantial knowledge and ability to find optimal solutions'. Rob Shantz and Zoryana Sozanska-Matviychuk count Ukrnafta among their clients.

Wolf Theiss joins the table this year having advised Ukrainian companies and Ukrainian subsidiaries of multinational businesses on critical employment matters.
