Gernandt & Danielsson AdvokatbyrÄ’s 40-strong team includes Manfred Löfvenhaft, Mats Hugoson, Bob Johanson and Johan Josjö. HĂ€gg and Isabella Ramsay advised SCA and Essity on the spin-off of SCA’s hygiene and health business to Essity. Roschier handles mid- to large-sized deals for international private equity houses, listed companies, privately held companies, banks and other financial institutions. Malin Leffler, Björn Johansson Heigis, and Lars Johansson advised Atlas Copco on the sale of its road construction equipment division to Fayat Group, and Jens Bengtsson advised Guy Hands (the chairman of Terra Firma Capital Partners) on the acquisition of McDonald’s Nordic operations. Björn Winström, Pontus Enquist and Ola Åhman are also recommended. Henrik Fritz joined from Handelsbanken Corporate Finance. Mattias Friberg joined Hannes Snellman in 2018.

Advokatfirman Vinge’s Erik Sjöman and Charlotte Levin assisted Mylan with its SEK60.3bn public offer for Meda. Christina Kokko led the team advising EQT Opportunity Fund, Fouriertransform and the other sellers on the sale of TitanX Engine Cooling to Tata AutoComp Systems. Johan Winnerblad, Magnus Pauli and Magnus Hedsund lead the group, and Jonas Johansson is recommended.

Advokatfirman Cederquist KB’s Petter Wirell and associate Sebastian Rosvall assisted Mobilaris with the divestment of 34% of the shares in Mobilaris MCE AB to Atlas Copco Rock Drills. Practice head Martin Ulfson is advising Marlin Equity Partners on acquiring Medius AB from NoxAx, InnKap4 Partners and the minority owners. Maja Wettergren heads the firm’s commercial contracts division. Carl-Johan Deuschl and Jimmy GĂ€rd are also recommended.

Advokatfirman Delphi is particularly active in the gaming, TMT, energy and healthcare sectors. David Aversten, senior associate Emma Dansbo and counsel Anna Ribenfors acted for EQT Ventures on its investment in Small Giant Games, and the firm also advised the Carlyle Group on its sale of BTI Studios to Altor. Per Berglöf and senior associate Rickard Isacson are other practitioners in the team, which is led by Mats Dahlberg.

Advokatfirman Lindahl KB’s team advised Nalka Invest on its acquisition of Lekolar and assisted AMC Entertainment Holdings with the Swedish law aspects of its $929m acquisition of Nordic Cinema Group. Peter Lilja, Anders Moberg and Erik BergenstrĂ„hle joined newly established firm Cirio in January 2019.

Linklaters handles public and private M&A across the entire Nordic region, as well as in markets further afield. Elisabet Lundgren and practice head Fredrik Lindqvist were part of a cross-office team which advised Denmark-based NKT Cables Holding on its circa €836m acquisition of ABB Holdings’ high-voltage cables and accessories’ business. Magnus Lidman has real estate M&A expertise and managing associates Rasmus Kindlund, Nima Naderi and Katja Persson are recommended.

Setterwalls’ team, which is led by Anders Söderlind, acted for Rederi AB Soya and Wallenius Lines on a cross-border merger with Wilh. Wilhelmsen. Söderlind, Mattias Detterfelt and Jörgen S. Axelsson are based in Stockholm. Ola Grahn and Jonas Frii are based in Malmö. Gothenburg-based Johan HallĂ©n heads up the firm’s commercial practice.

White & Case Advokat AB handles some of the largest private equity deals in the market for clients such as Nordic Capital, HgCapital and Altor Equity Partners. Johan Steen advised Bridgepoint on its, and Bonnier’s, $930m divestment of Nordic Cinema Group to AMC Entertainment. In the private M&A sphere, Steen and Lennart Pettersson are assisting Ingenico Group with its €1.5bn acquisition of Bambora from Nordic Capital. Darragh Byrne leads the group, which includes Rikard Stenberg and senior associate Henrik Wireklint. Jan Jensen, Shoan Panahi and Patrik Erblad joined from Hannes Snellman.

At Baker & McKenzie AdvokatbyrĂ„ KB, Carl Svernlöv has ‘tremendous knowledge of Swedish company law’. Mattias Hedwall and Sten Bauer are also recommended. The team advises Nordic clients on corporate transactions worldwide, and assists overseas clients with inbound deals. Costin Mihailescu and Bauer assisted McDonald’s Corporation with divesting circa 435 restaurants in the Nordic region to Guy Hands. Anders Fast leads the team. Mathias Hansson was a new arrival in March 2018 from Byström Rooth & Partners Advokater KB.

DLA Piper’s merger with Grönberg AdvokatbyrĂ„ in October 2016 has bolstered its offering, with Mats Jansson and Sanna Lundkvist joining the team. The duo acted for Cleano Holding on the sale of Diskteknik and its subsidiaries to Martin & Servera. Anders Malmström leads the team, which includes Peder Grandinson, Arthur Csatho and Richard Folke.

Hamilton AdvokatbyrÄ’s practice expanded as a result of the firm merging with Ashurst’s Stockholm office; Pontus Bergsten and Jon Ericson were among the new arrivals. Recent highlights include Mats Johnsson, Charles Andersson and Joachim Funariu assisting MTG with its $55m acquisition of US games publisher and developer Kongregate from GameStop. Martin Prager was the lead adviser to the online retailer Furniturebox on the sale of the business to FSN Capital’s portfolio company Bygghemma. Ola Lidström and Christoffer Hamilton are also recommended.

Hammarskiöld & Co AB’s Erik Fahlgren and Erik Löfwall assisted Snap-on with its circa $155m acquisition of the Car-O-Liner group from Polaris. Fahlgren also assisted Q-Park with the Swedish law aspects of KKR Infrastructure’s proposed €2.95bn takeover of the business. Jakob Falkman specialises in energy sector transactions, and Peder Hammarskiöld leads the team.

At Hannes Snellman, Richard Åkerman is the key name. Sören Lindström, and Anna Green Jensen assisted EQT with its SEK2.3bn acquisition of DGC One. Claes Kjellberg and Kristiansson advised Fingerprint Cards on its $106m acquisition of Delta ID. Jan Jensen, Shoan Panahi and Patrik Erblad joined White & Case Advokat AB. Björn Kristiansson joined Kanter AdvokatbyrĂ„ KB in December 2017. Mattias Friberg was a new arrival from Roschier in 2018.

MAQS AdvokatbyrÄ’s M&A team is particularly active in the energy, media, financial services, insurance and IT/emerging technology sectors. Mikael Kowal recently acted for Movimento on its acquisition by Delphi Automotive from Verdane Capital. The firm also handles outsourcing transactions, agency and distribution agreements, and franchising arrangements. Mango Kask, Per-Henrik Schönberg and Ulf Yxklinten are key figures in this space.

Wistrand handles a sizeable number of small and mid-cap M&A deals, with particular expertise in sectors such as hotels and leisure, healthcare and life sciences, IT and TMT. Robert Kullgren, Magnus Forssman and senior associate Johan Elowsson acted for the sellers on the divestment of Propellerhead Software to Verdane Capital. Lars Hasp and Sascha Schaeferdiek are key members of the team.

Led by Christian Hybbinette, AG Advokat’s team has a focus on the real estate and construction sectors, advising clients on M&A, sourcing, supply and manufacturing agreements, and cooperation arrangements. Hybbinette and associate Fredrik Sandström advised metal mining company Boliden on supply and installation agreements associated with the expansion of the Harjavalta smelter. Eric Ödling is also recommended.

Bird & Bird’s Hans Svensson heads the firm’s Swedish corporate group, while MĂ„rten Willamo leads the wider Nordic practice. Jörgen Ekström assists clients with various commercial agreements, including sales, marketing, franchising, procurement and outsourcing. The firm has a track record assisting clients in technology and heavily regulated sectors such as energy, defence, and life sciences. Jan Berg and Rickard Poppelman recently acted for the management team of Etraveli on its €508m acquisition by CVC Capital Partners.

Hellström Law acts for clients from industries such as financial services, retail and real estate, among others. Jonas Wetterfors assisted Network Innovations with its acquisition of IDG Europe. Manne Bergnéhr heads up the M&A practice, while Bengt Olovsson leads the corporate and commercial team. Jonas Forsman and Anders Lundberg are other notable individuals.

Magnusson AdvokatbyrÄ’s recent deal list includes advising FMF, the owner of 25% of the shares in Hemnet, on Hemnet’s SEK2bn takeover by global private equity fund General Atlantic. The team, which is led by Anders BĂ€ckman, also acted for Patron Capital on the €450m sale by the client (and Invesco Real Estate) of the Generator Hostels to Queensgate Investments. Jonas Bergquist, Gustaf Leijonhufvud and recently promoted partner Karolin Eklund are highly regarded.

Advokatfirman NorelidHolm’s longstanding clients include the BMW Group and Tupperware Nordic. The firm also acts for HemmakvĂ€ll, Mini Rodini and Foodmark. Susanna Norelid recently assisted Plantagen with its acquisition of Saba Blommor.

Synch Advokat AB’s team increased in size in 2017, with Erica Antonovic joining from RaySearch Technologies and Dan ÖrnfjĂ€der’s arrival from Setterwalls. Andreas Börjesson, Anders Hellström and MĂ„rten Lindberg acted for mobile payments company iZettle on a circa €60m Series D financing round. Johan TydĂ©n advised Furhat Robotics on a SEK25m financing round. Jim Runsten is also recommended. Mikael Moreira joined Osborne Clarke.

Advokatfirman Törngren Magnell acts for European private equity funds and their portfolio companies, corporates and finance companies. Sten HedbÀck led the advice to the founders of Allbildelar on the sale of Allbildelar to Bilia. Peter Törngren leads the team.

Byström Rooth & Partners Advokater KB’s Jan Byström is ‘an outstanding technical lawyer with excellent people skills’. Byström advised Ratos on the sale of Mobile Climate Control to VBG Group. Fredrik von Baumgarten joined Osborne Clarke. Mathias Hansson joined Baker & McKenzie AdvokatbyrĂ„ KB in March 2018.

At Eversheds AdvokatbyrÄ AB (a member of Eversheds Sutherland), practice head Ulrika Sparrman assisted PEQ Invest II on the sale of Absortech International to Pamica. Jonas Bratt advised Digitalist Group (Finland) on its acquisition of NodeOne Group AB (Sweden) and its subsidiaries. Gabriel Albemark and Michael Nyman are other noted practitioners.

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton’s main contacts are practice head Sören Druve and Cecilia Lohmander. Wesslau Söderqvist AdvokatbyrÄ’s Björn Lind and Kristoffer Jacobsson recently acted for Itab Shop Concept on its acquisition of Germany-based D&L Lichtplanung and D.Lindner Lichttechnische Grosshandlung.
