Allen & Overy Bratislava, s.r.o. advised ENEL Produzione on the €3.8bn sale of Enel’s 66% stake in Slovenské elektrárne. Martin Magal heads the team and senior associate Vojtech Palinkas is also noted.

Čechová & Partners’ ‘highly regarded’ team advised bauMax on the distressed sale of its operations in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia. Katarína Čechová is ‘outstanding’, and Tomáš Maretta and Tomáš Rybár are also recommended. Lenka Šubeníková joined from Wolf Theiss in 2016 and heads the team.

White & Case s.r.o has ‘excellent understanding of the client’s perspective’ and is advising the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and MH Invest on the €1.5bn contemplated investment by Jaguar Land Rover in a strategic park in Nitra. Marek Staroň, who is ‘valuable in difficult and high-level negotiations’, and Juraj Fuska jointly head the team.

Barger Prekop s.r.o. is noted for its private equity expertise and is active in the energy sector. Adrian Barger and Peter Suba head the corporate team, while Erik Seman and Anthony Hernandez lead the M&A team. Roman Prekop is active in corporate governance work.

Hillbridges’ ‘experienced’ team advised LG Hausys on its €40m acquisition of a majority stake in c2i. Zuzana Bartošovičová and Miroslav Trenčan head the department. Andrej Adamčík, who is ‘very experienced in M&A transactions’, and Martin Čabák are also noted.

Kinstellar’s ‘flexible’ department advised GIC on its €2.4bn acquisition of P3 Logistic Parks. Daniel Torsher, who is managing partner of the Bucharest and Istanbul offices, Roman Oleksik, Patrik Bolf and Adam Hodoň are recommended. Counsel Viliam Myšička and senior associates Dominika Bajzáthová, who joined from Ružička and Partners in 2016, and Tomáš Melišek are names to note. Zuzana Hodoňová, who was previously a counsel with the firm, left in 2018.

Squire Patton Boggs s.r.o. has ‘excellent negotiation skills’ and advised ECO-INVESTMENT on the €18.2m acquisition of a majority stake in Paloma. Jana Pagáčová heads the department and Tatiana Prokopová is also noted.

bnt attorneys-at-law, s.r.o. advised Fresenius Medical Care on the €2m acquisition of a dialysis clinic. Team head Margareta Sovova, Dávid Oršula and Zuzana Chudáčková are the key partners.

Beatow Partners s.r.o is commended for its ‘practical’ approach and is active in the telecoms, energy, pharmaceuticals and healthcare sectors. Michal Delinčák and the ‘proficient and pragmatic’ Branislav Brocko head the team.

DLA Piper Weiss-Tessbach is adept in cross-border M&A and was part of an international team advising NTT DATA on its $3.1bn acquisition of Dell Services. Michaela Stessl heads the department.

Dentons is advising Mitsui & Co Global Investment on its bid to acquire a share in a Slovak manufacturer. The ‘diligent and insightful’ senior counsel Katarína Pecnová leads the team and competition expert Zuzana Šimeková is ‘solutions-orientated’.

Hamala Kluch Víglaský s.r.o. advised Johnson Controls on its spin-off in Slovakia, which included high-profile M&A work. Roman Hamala, Martin Kluch, Peter Víglaský and Lukáš Michálik head the team.

Noerr s.r.o is praised for its ‘structured and understandable’ advice and is advising Aurelius on the €185m sale of Secop Group to Nidec. Senior associate Martin Ťupek heads the team.

Paul Q Law Firm is advising PSJ Hydrotranzit on a transaction to supply the transition stations for a national Czech gas distributor. Team head Pavol Blahušiak is ‘always thoroughly prepared’ and Boris Brhlovič is also noted.

Ružička and Partners’s team of ‘great communicators’ is experienced in energy sector transactions. It is advising ÚJV Řež on the division of EGP and its merger with ÚJV Řež. Team head Lucie Schweizer and Dana Nemčíková are recommended.

Taylor Wessing Slovakia advised the shareholders of RYBA Košice and Calmar, the Gima family, on the divesture of its shareholdings. Radovan Pala, Andrej Leontiev, who advises a number of Slovak start-ups, and Juraj Frindrich are joint team heads.

Bartošík Šváby s.r.o. (former BS Legal s.r.o.) is advising Galaxy Optical on the acquisition of optical branches from Tesco in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland. Boris Šváby is the team head, while Peter Bartošík and Igor Šváby are also key names.

CHSH Siska & Partners s.r.o. advised ICW Europe Investments on the acquisition, finance and construction of a biogas power plant. Jozef Bannert is the key contact.

Key matters at PRK Partners s.r.o. include advising SABMiller on Slovak issues relating to the €7.3bn sale of its CEE businesses to the Asahi Group. Miriam Galandová, Peter Oravec, Emil Nemec and team head Martin Kříž are singled out.

Wolf Theiss is commended for its ‘no-nonsense approach’ and the team worked alongside colleagues in other international offices in advising Amundi on the €3.5bn acquisition of Pioneer Investments from UniCredit. Counsel Katarina Bielikova is ‘fast and efficient’. Ľuboš Frolkovič left the firm in 2017 to establish Frolkovic Legal.

BBH advokátska kancelária, s.r.o. advised JTH Group on the €1.4m sale of its Slovak affiliate JTH Immo. Miroslav Fašung and Olga Beláňová head the department.

Legate S.R.Olooks at issues from a legal and business perspective’ and advises on transactions in the energy and natural resources, transport, infrastructure and pharmaceuticals sectors. Peter Vrabel is a ‘very experienced lawyer’ and Dušan Bartek finds ‘pragmatic solutions’.

Maple & Fish handles mandates in the energy and healthcare sectors. Michal Stasík and Viliam Karas are noted.
