Nageena Khalique QC leads the Court of Protection group at No5 Barristers Chambers, which receives instructions from family members, local authorities and the Official Solicitor in cases involving medical treatment, deprivation of liberty safeguards and issues regarding capacity, among other areas. In 2016, Khalique acted in a personal welfare case concerning the removal of a deaf and mute Congolese girl from her family home following allegations of abuse. In another case, senior junior Abid Mahmood represented Herefordshire Council in a matter concerning a man with mental health issues from a Gypsy Traveller background.
