Al Busaidy, Mansoor Jamal & Co has experience of port development mandates and provides ongoing advice to various cargo shippers and maritime logistics companies. Marcus Pery advised Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and other finance parties on the provision to Oman Shipping Company of a $47m facility, which was secured by Marshall Island assets and was used to finance an LNG carrier. Mansoor Jamal Malik heads the practice group.  

Dentons has experience of shipping litigation and port developments, and also advises shippers and logistics companies on a range of contentious and non-contentious matters. Haleem Amir Mohammed is acting for International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund in relation to a OMR7.7m claim arising from the sinking of a tanker carrying 816 tonnes of bitumen off the Port of Sultan Qaboos in 2013. Also recommended is department head Andrew Figgins, who has particular expertise in port operation and litigation, especially in matters relating to the oil and gas sector.

DLA Piper Oman LLP provides commercial and regulatory advice in connection to the financing, development and ongoing operation of ports. Highlights have included advising on the development of the Port Salalah container terminal. Bruce Mullins heads the department.

Said Al-Shahry & Partners (SASLO)'s shipping practice is best known for its capabilities in shipping litigation. Indeed, the team regularly handles vessel arrests, cargo claims and disputes arising from maritime casualties. In the non-contentious space, the team has experience of ship finance and acquisitions, and also provides regulatory advice on port and container terminal regulations. Hani Bawani is among the key litigators in the practice group.
