The ‘very professional and caring’ practice at G. Elias & Co ‘is always ready to assist on small or large issues’ for its international development, investment and construction clients. Gbolahan Elias and Fred Onuobia advised General Electric on the interim phase of a $2bn infrastructure concession set to revive the government of Nigeria’s railway assets; advice encompassed reviewing and negotiating the interim phase agreement, regulatory and compliance assistance and ancillary legal help. Other mandates included advising on the financing and construction of Kellogg’s and Tolaram’s ₩6bn factory development. The firm is also assisting with the transaction structure concerning El-Alan Group and Kaizen Properties’ 25-storey twin-tower residential development. The team at Bloomfield Law Practice has in-depth knowledge of the residential, hotel and mall industries, providing advice on real estate transactions, property finance and project development. Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie’s real estate practice head Aniekan Ukpanah is advising the Union Bank of Nigeria on a $1.5bn asset disposal exercise. The team also assists local and international clients with land acquisitions, foreign investment approvals, real estate financing transactions and standard drafting and negotiation support. Another key matter involved handling Intafact Beverages’ ₩2.2bn land acquisition for a brewery construction project.
