Francesco Anglani¬†is the head of the luxury sector team at¬†BonelliErede, which provides the full spectrum of advice to its clients on contentious and non-contentious matters. Recent highlights include¬†Claudio Tesauro¬†and others acting as global antitrust counsel to Luxottica Group on its ‚ā¨50bn merger with Essilor, and also advising the same client on the competition aspects of its ‚ā¨140m acquisition of Barberini. On the contentious side,¬†Andrea Silvestri¬†successfully represented some of the managers of an Italian luxury jewellery and accessories brand at the Court of Rome in a case involving allegations of tax evasion. The firm's other matters involve areas such as corporate governance, compliance, leasing contracts and outsourcing.¬†Giovanni Guglielmetti¬†is the name to note for IP issues.

Chiomenti's Emanuele Barberis heads up the luxury sector team, whose expertise includes corporate and M&A, commercial contracts, IP, tax and employment. Reflective of the firm's first-rate reputation, Annalisa Reale and senior associate Paolo Carbone assisted Swarovski with the employment aspects of its reorganisation, while tax partner Massimo Antonini advised B&B Italia on a merger leveraged buyout. A major highlight saw the firm successfully represent Franklin & Marshall in a trade mark dispute against Franklin & Marshall College. Pavia e Ansaldo's professionals have 'an excellent knowledge of fashion business issues', and the firm has a strong flow of work thanks to its practice area strengths in corporate, IP, consumer protection and dispute resolution, among others. Recent highlights include successfully acting for Ralph Lauren in cross-border trade mark infringement litigation against Harvey Miller Polo Club. Calvin Klein and The Sonnabend Collection Foundation are among other notable clients. Gian Paolo Di Santo and Mia Rinetti jointly lead the team. Adriano Villa and Mario Abate head the Japan and US desks respectively.

Hogan Lovells International LLP's Leah Dunlop and Antonio Di Pasquale were the lead advisers to JAB Luxury on the disposal of a controlling stake in Swiss luxury fashion company Bally to Shandong Ruyi Investment Holdings. In another matter, Luigi Mansani, senior associate Maria Luce Piattelli and associate Maria Luigia Franceschelli are currently advising Poltrona Frau on the worldwide management of its IP portfolio. A highlight involved assisting the Buccellati family with the renegotiation of employment agreements as part of the sale of Buccellati Holding Italia to Gangtai Group. Antonio Pedersoli and Andrea de’ Mozzi are key contacts.

Bird & Bird's 'outstanding' luxury goods practice group provides 'practical advice' and 'solves even the most complex problems'. The 'remarkable' Massimiliano Mostardini, Giovanni Galimberti and Stefano Silvestri are joint heads of the team. Also noted are Arturo Leone and counsel Federico Marini-Balestra.

Deloitte Legal ‚Äď Studio Associato's¬†work in the luxury goods sector forms a¬†key part of its¬†IP practice, and the firm recently strengthened its offering in relation to contentious and non-contentious matters¬†by hiring¬†Ida Palombella¬†and associate Federica Caretta¬†from¬†Withers Studio Legale.¬†The firm recently assisted¬†The¬†National Chamber of Italian Fashion with all¬†IP issues¬†associated with¬†its organisation of The Green Carpet Fashion Awards.
