A market leader for competition law’, Mills & Reeve LLP attracts praise for its ‘sound business acumen and excellent commercial advice’. Consultant Ruth Smith leads the team and is national head of procurement law. She is experienced in handling matters arising from the health, government, education and technology sectors. Corporate consultant Brian Marshall and IT partner Kevin Caldertake a very pragmatic approach and have a good understanding of the commercial position as well as the legalities’. The team can also call on experts from a range of disciplines to advise on competition law including IP and IT specialist Greg Gibson; national head of projects and construction Raith Pickup; construction consultant Ron Plascow; and principal associate Helen Prandy in the commercial litigation team. Birketts LLP’s Norwich office has a strong focus on commercial matters involving international transactions with a Dutch element. Consultant Andrew Wood, who is part of the firm’s corporate and commercial team, was recently appointed as the new Honorary Consul for the Kingdom of the Netherlands for Norwich. Legal director Erika Clarke has a strong practice in public procurement matters.
