CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz D.O.O. in cooperation with local lawyers' 'responsive' team has 'a proactive attitude' and 'thinks outside the box'. The team assists clients with the financing and construction of energy projects and provides comprehensive advice on regulatory issues. Head of team Nedžida Salihović-Whalen advised the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on all aspects of the financing of the EBRD-Regional Energy Efficiency Programme for energy efficiency in the Western Balkan countries and is acting for PCC DEG Renewables on the construction of three hydro-power plants. Belma Hodžić is another name to note.

Dimitrijevic & Partners covers a wide range of infrastructure and energy projects for private and public clients. Davorin Marinković and Aleksandar Jokić, who was recently promoted to senior associate, advised a public authority on contractual issues arising from the construction of a bypass and are acting for the same client in a dispute with the contractor. Marinković also successfully represented Energy Eastern Europe Hydro Power, alongside Stevan Dimitrijevic, in a dispute regarding the collection of additional charges on electricity production. In the renewable energy sector, the team assisted new client Windvision with a PPP agreement with the Government and the Forest Management Company of the Republic of Srpska concerning a joint venture for the development of energy from wood biomass.

Wolf Theiss - in cooperation with local lawyers is ‘a good quality law firm with strong individual lawyers’ that is able to ‘cover specific legal matters and deal with potential problems’. Head of team Naida Čustović advised RMU Banovići on the corporate, commercial and financial aspects of the development of the Banovići thermal power plant and assisted a motorway company with the financial aspects of the construction of Highway Vc, in cooperation with the firm's Vienna office. Counsel Lana Sarajlić, who is 'very capable and experienced', joined in November 2017 from Karanovic & Partners in cooperation with local lawyers. Samra Hadžović left at the end of 2017 to become a sole practitioner.

Karanovic & Partners in cooperation with local lawyers advises on energy, infrastructure and telecoms matters. The practice has been acting for ArcelorMittal Zenica on its contemplated investment in a thermal power plant project and assists cable television and internet services provider Telemach with its day-to-day operations, including regulatory and infrastructure matters. Sarajevo-based Nihad Sijerčić and Goran Babić, who is based in Banja Luka, lead the team.

At Law Office Miljković & Partners, managing partner Sead Miljković and his team regularly act for electricity and energy companies involved in conventional or renewable energy projects. The group has recently been assisting a power company with various gas and electricity trading licenses and regulatory issues. In the renewable space, Miljkovic is advising Senvion Italia on various matters pertaining to wind energy projects, including licenses, real estate and construction matters, as well as regulatory aspects concerning wind farm installation and operation.

Moravcevic Vojnovic and Partners in cooperation with Schoenherr's practice is led by Serbia-based Matija Vojnović. Recent work includes acting for the Republic of Srpska and Hidroelektrane na Vrbasu in a dispute with a Slovenian investor concerning the termination of a concession agreement for the development of a hydro-energy system on Vrbas River.

Predrag Radovanović heads the team at Marić & Co Law Firm. The group is advising Philia Switzerland on the environmental and concession law aspects of an oil exploration project in Tuzla and is acting for AerCap Ireland on the sale of an aircraft to Fly Bosnia under a wet-lease arrangement.

At Law firm SAJIC, the group is advising new client PVI on the development of solar power plants projects and is acting for Frisoli on the reconstruction and expansion of a regional landfill in Bijeljina. Aleksandar Sajic leads the practice.
