CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz D.O.O. in cooperation with local lawyers assists corporate and financial institutions with the regulatory facets of M&A and restructuring transactions, and covers a wide range of financing, including syndicated loans and refinancing. The team, led by Andrea Zubović-Devedžić and Nedžida Salihović-Whalen, also includes senior associate Sanja Voloder. Recent work includes assisting a consortium of international banks with the debt restructuring of a large company.

The 'dedicated' team at Karanovic & Partners in cooperation with local lawyers 'has experience in advising clients on banking, finance and capital markets issues'. Attorney-at-law Amina Đugum and Nihad Sijerčić, who provides 'a tailored-made service' and is praised for his 'exceptional knowledge', are the names to note. Sijerčić is advising ArcelorMittal on the structuring and financing of a project to construct a thermal power plant in Zenica. Jointly led by Naida Čustović in Sarajevo and Nikolaus Paul in Vienna, the banking and finance practice at Wolf Theiss - in cooperation with local lawyers was recently strengthened by the arrival of counsel Lana Sarajlić from Karanovic & Partners in cooperation with local lawyers in November 2017. Associate Jasmin Omerdić is another key contact. The ‘responsive and efficient’ team has expertise in banking regulatory matters, financial and operational restructurings, NPLs, and project and acquisition financing for lenders and borrowers. Highlights included advising RMU Banovići on the financing of a thermal power plant in Banovići.

Led by Branko Maric, Marić & Co Law Firm’s team regularly advises international financial institutions on lending and financing matters, as shown by its advice to UniCredit Bank on the securitisation of a syndicated loan to United Group. The practice is also known for its litigation work and was instructed by Agrokor in the proceedings initiated by creditors regarding the securities issued by local subsidiaries and other financial issues arising from the procedure of Extraordinary Administration initiated against the client.

At Law Office Miljković & Partners, the team is 'highly professional' and provides 'accurate' advice. Managing partner Sead Miljković is acting for the creditors on the bankruptcy of Prizma and assisted Lignopro with the financing of wood industry machinery by Raiffeisen Leasing. Mia Čivić, formerly a senior associate with the firm, left to take up an in-house position in April 2018.

Moravcevic Vojnovic and Partners in cooperation with Schoenherr is acting for Sberbank on the collection of its €1.3bn claim against Agrokor and its affiliates and is advising a bank on its bank assurance restructuring project in Bosnia, including assisting with due diligence issues. Serbia-based department head Matija Vojnović is 'able to come up with tailor-made solutions to the most challenging issues in very short time frames'.

Lawyers' Office Olodar Prebanić & Arela Jusufbašić-Goloman works closely with international and local financial institutions as well as multinational corporations on transactional and financing matters. The 'dedicated, analytical and experienced' team recently advised the Export-Import Bank of China on the financing of the construction of a large infrastructure project. Other clients include International Finance Corporation and Sberbank. Olodar Prebanic and Arela Jusufbasic-Goloman are the names to note.

Dimitrijevic & Partners stands out for its litigation and project financing work. Stevan Dimitrijevic and Davorin Marinković recently represented a government department in an ICSID arbitration case and advised the Pension Reserve Fund of the Republic of Srpska on negotiations with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development regarding the shareholders’ agreement for the incorporation of the first private pension plan fund in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sanja Đukić and Aleksandar Sajic are the key names for banking and finance at Law firm SAJIC. Recent highlights include acting for Lutrija Republike Srpske and Novomatic as bankruptcy creditors against Bobar Bank, as well as assisting Ūkio Bankas with the collection of receivables from the Birac Group.
