The ‘excellent’ corporate team at Baker & McKenzie Limited is well versed in M&A, joint ventures and reorganisations, and has extensive experience handling domestic and cross-border matters. David Monnier regularly acts for government entities, major banks and corporates on the full range of commercial, corporate and M&A matters, and has been particularly active in handling multijurisdictional restructurings and regulatory compliance matters. The ‘approachable, knowledgeable and pragmatic’ Rupert Copeman-Hill heads the practice at Charles Russell Speechlys LLP, which is noted for its wide-ranging sector expertise, including financial services, education, telecommunications, real estate and hospitality. The firm recently advised Bahrain Middle East Bank on issues arising from the client’s pre-takeover reorganisation, which included assisting with the transfer of shares to three individual shareholders.

Harnek Shoker leads the team at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, which handles a variety of corporate matters including joint ventures, public private partnerships, restructurings, and reorganisations. Highlights included advising Diyar Al Muharraq on its joint venture with Eagle Hills International Properties; Shoker led on the transaction, which involved preparing, regulating and finalising the joint venture agreement and other facility project documents.

Regarded for its strong funds experience, the team at Trowers & Hamlins LLP is regularly called on to assist domestic and international banks and financial institutions with the full range of corporate and commercial matters. The firm’s experience also covers capital markets transactions, M&A, bond issuances, and joint ventures for corporate clients. Nick Green and Brian Howard advised the Bahrain Cinema Company on its $60m joint venture with Majid Al Futtaim to create the world’s largest cinema, based in Bahrain’s landmark City Centre Mall.

The firm regularly advises on the establishment of corporate entities and joint venture agreements for clients spanning a range of industry sectors, including construction and engineering, oil and gas, and travel and tourism.

The ‘very responsive’ corporate team at Zu'bi & Partners, Attorneys & Legal Consultants is noted for its ‘strong knowledge of corporate issues from a Bahraini perspective’ and provides ‘good advice’ on financing and equity investments.
