The Legal 500 UK Awards, where we recognise the best in-house counsel, law firms and sets, took place on 23rd February 2017. Each year we carry out in-depth research across the whole of the UK legal sector; this gives us a unique perspective on the legal market.
The 2017 shortlists and winners are based on merit alone; we do not invite applications for the awards. Moreover, the awards do not recognise only the largest firms or sets, or those in the top tier. Every researcher working on the UK guide was asked a simple question: which in-house lawyers, law firms and sets stood out for you this year, and why?
For the in-house awards, we also took into account the research carried out for both our GC Powerlist series and the 90,000 client interviews for The Legal 500 UK.
