Position: Head of legal and company secretary of the Alcan Group of companies in the UK (including British Alcan Aluminium plc, former Algroup and Lawson Mardon Packaging companies and Pechiney companies in UK), responsible for all corporate, M&A, and commercial issues, contracts, financing, property and intellectual property; advises in connection with employment matters and co-ordinating litigation issues; responsibility covers all legal issues relating to UK companies including company secretarial and statutory matters; secretary for main UK pension funds and provision of advice on pensions; responsibility for Global Tobacco business legal matters.

Education: Billericay School; Bristol University (1986 LLB Hons); College of Law, Chancery Lane (1987 LSF Hons).

Career: Articled Osborne Clarke; qualified 1989; assistant solicitor and associate Osborne Clarke; in-house Lawson Mardon since 1994 when merged with Alusuisse Lonza; became head of legal upon merger with Alcan Inc; inherited Pechiney companies upon Alcan takeover of Pechiney in 2004; former secretary Bristol Law Society and Bristol Legal Advice Centres Association; member Bristol Law Society and Commerce and Industry Group; adviser Princes Youth Business Trust.
