Sally specialises in (i) landlord and tenant, property and housing litigation (ii) administrative law and (iii) human rights. Sally accepts instructions concerning all areas of landlord and tenant, property and housing litigation. She regularly advises and represents tenants and landlords, including local authorities and registered housing providers. She has particular expertise in dilapidations, unlawful eviction and harassment, and in possession matters involving public law and human rights issues (eg Optima Community Association v Ker  EWCA Civ 579; Leicester City Council v Shearer  EWCA Civ 1467). She also enjoys grappling with procedural issues (e.g. Home Group Ltd v Marie Matrejek  EWHC 441 (QB),  2 Costs LO 267 in which an appeal to the Court of Appeal has been lodged). She advises commercial and residential clients on the construction of leases, forfeiture and in respect of easements and covenants. Sally advises and represents applicants and local authorities in homelessness appeals and housing and community care judicial reviews.

Sally has two very young children and spends most of her spare time with them. In addition, she enjoys playing the piano and reading. Before coming to the Bar, she worked as an English language teacher abroad working in Greece, Estonia and Cameroon as well as for summer schools in the UK. She still enjoys travel although now on a rather more limited basis.
