Position

Head of the Personal Injury practice at St John's, Glyn is a busy and highly regarded practitioner whose practice covers the entire scope of PI, including a substantial number of catastrophic injury and brain damage cases. He is regularly instructed by major insurance companies and local authorities throughout the country. He maintains a balance of both claimant and defendant work.

Career

Called 1987; junior counsel to the Crown since 2000 (provincial panel); formerly lecturer at Oxford Brookes University.Cases include: Thomas v Price Brothers (Deborah Bradley at CIP; head injury/spinal case with liability disputed; successfully settled); Ellis v Bristol CC (Rob Hams at Wansbroughs; assessment of damages with malingering as an issue: claimant failed to beat the payment in at trial); Lindsay v Wood (Seva Singh at Lyons Davidson; long running brain damage case with a hearing to re-open the decision using the Barrell jurisdiction; Schildhauer v Mintwall (Mark Walsh at Lyons Davidson Solihull; very serious lower limb injury resolved in a JSM); Solomons v Solomons (Peter Livingstone at Clarke Willmott; spinal injury; significant value claim involving American medical experts and complicated loss of earnings claim arising out of the Finance industry; settled at a JSM).
