Position
John Dickinson is a barrister specialising in commercial and chancery litigation with an emphasis on banking, company, partnerships and probate disputes. Areas of practice: banking, including charges, cheques and bills of exchange, guarantees, restitution, subrogation, and consumer credit; contracts, including sale of goods, restraint of trade and retention of title; company, including shareholders' disputes and directors' duties; financial services; fraud, including tracing and other equitable remedies; pensions; partnership; property litigation, both commercial and residential, including conveyancing disputes, and rights of way; professional negligence, including solicitors, accountants and financial institutions. John's Chancery practice includes disputes concerning trusts, settlements and wills, and contentious probate work. John receives commendations from both the 'Chambers and Partners' and 'The Legal 500' directories for his commercial and Chancery work.
Career
Qualified as chartered accountant 1991; practised for five years, latterly at Coopers & Lybrand for the BCCI investigation; he also spent a number of months in 2002-03 acting as counsel assisting Lord Penrose's inquiry concerning Equitable Life; called to the Bar 1995.
