Position

James’ practice includes advice and litigation in all areas of revenue law, including personal taxes, corporate taxes and VAT. He also appears regularly in arbitral proceedings and before the Chancery Division, Administrative Court and the Family Division in commercial and other matters which raise tax issues. Recent cases of note include Forde & McHugh v HMRC (Supreme Court), Bristol & West v HMRC (Court of Appeal), ING Intermediate Holdings v HMRC (Upper Tribunal), V & TA (Chancery Division), LCIA Arbitration Proceedings in Singapore and the Ingenious Film Partners litigation before the Tax Tribunals.
