Position
Parosha is ranked in the 2006 ‘Chambers & Partners’ directory as a leading junior in human rights law and practises predominantly in asylum law, immigration law, discrimination law, prison law and civil liberties.
Career
Called 1997; has worked at the European Commission for Human Rights, the UNHCR and the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia; she is a member of the FCO’s pro bono lawyers panel, in which capacity she provides advice to the families of Britons killed or detained overseas; trustee of the British Institute of Human Rights and a board member of the Foreign and Commonwealth’s offices recently established Consular Strategy Board; member of the Legal Team of the Kurdish Human Rights Project; extensive experience in practising and teaching human rights and has provided training courses to many diverse organisations, including Lincoln’s Inn, Prisoners Abroad and The POPPY Project, a London-based charity supporting female victims of trafficking in the UK. Barrister of the Year at the Law Society Excellence Awards 2008. Society of Asian Lawyers’ Pro Bono/Human Rights Lawyer of the Year 2009.
